Upcoming Art Production
Here I am - staring at my Pantone espresso cups and reading the tons of articles on the upcoming art events and literature products that would come out in 2011. A general analysis of these would probably be good as, just like any person fond of some form of the art, I feel that economic pressure and financial deficit are pressuring the world of art and this year we will all see that there will not be much of the diversity in the art world as we used to see 2 or 3 years ago.
In terms of literature, we will see a rise in the thriller section - the current interests of people are mainly directed in what is currently happening in the world and this is the reason why more creative literature, like poetry and essay analysis, will not be marked with an increased demand by the public. Furthermore, the increasing share of biographies would probably reach its peak - after George Bush’s and Tony Blair’s biographies, we are to see the works of some of the economists and the financial specialists of the 21st century - not because they would be so interesting, but because this is where the public attention is going recently.
In terms of events, we will not see much in the galleries. Many artists have redirected their occupations and from creative persons they have become either employees for marketing and advertising agencies, or have completely abandoned the world of art - the reason is simple as there are less money for the distribution and the advertising of art around the main art destinations - lile the UK, France and Italy.
In terms of cinema - you might be happy. New productions would be coming out, and theater performances would also remain preferred by the majority of the public.
So it is an interesting year coming ahead - what would remain strong and what would be marked with a potential for further development in the world of art, after all, remains a subjective judgement and yet we are to see the newest presentations of the art world in 2011.
